ACNE

Acne Vulgaris is the most common form of acne, Its known symptoms include blackheads (open comedones), whiteheads (closed comedones), papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts.

It is these comedones that determine if the present acne is comedogenic. A comedo is recognised as a basic acne lesion. It forms due to the fast cell turnover and high oil flow which causes the pilosebaceous unit to become clogged which results in a comedogenic acne lesion.

There are four types of acne grading:

  • Mild Acne, Grade 1

  • Moderate Acne, Grade 2

  • Severe Nodulocystic Acne, Grade 3

  • Acne Conglobate, Grade 4

At Skin Inparlour, we can offer treatments that can help alleviate the severity of your condition.

Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to treating acne as the problem lies deep within the skin. Changing your lifestyle and inducing healthy habits while working on your gut health can have drastic effects on the impact of acne.

Our list of treatments for acne includes but is not limited:

  • Cutera's®   LASER GENESIS™

Laser Genesis is a Non-ablative Skin resurfacing. Laser GENESIS™. While predominantly used for the treatment of acne scarring, the therapeutic temperature that the skin reaches during your treatment session can kill the acne-causing Cutibacterium Acne bacteria in the skin, therefore reducing the severity of your acne over multiple sessions.

  • Laser Treatments with our long pulsed 1064nm Laser

At Skin Inparlour we use our long pulse 1064nm Cutera® LASER and we individually treat your acne lesions. This treatment is suitable for lighter skin types only for those who suffer from mild to moderate inflammatory acne.

  • DMK Enzyme Therapy DMK enzymes are tailored to your skin concern. During your journey of a 12-treatment course with a strict at-home prescription, the impacts of acne may be reduced without the need for medications. DMK believes that for best results, you need to treat the skin at a cellular level, not just topically.

DMK enzyme therapy and ingredients mimic the skin's natural biochemistry, which may allow your skin to adapt at a faster rate. While using ingredients and products to treat your concern, we are looking to change the malfunctions that are occurring within the skin, to enhance more vibrant, healthy, and functional skin. Contraindications may apply, so please ensure you are completely upfront with your Aesthetician.

  • LED Blue Light Therapy Dermalux Blue light LEDs use proven wavelengths known to target comedones at a wavelength of 433 nanometres. These wavelengths are absorbed by the comedones which causes the unpaired electron valent shell to then become paired, which diminishes comedogenicity, thus reducing the amount of damage that can occur at a cellular level. By reducing the amount of comedogenicity within the cell, we reduce the level of inflammation and encourage healthy cell turnover by creating balance and homeostasis within the cell and in time reduce the severity of Acne.

  •

A treatment course package is recommended. Results may be individually achieved, however, used in conjunction with other treatments is the best outcome. Contraindications may apply, so please ensure you are completely upfront with your Aesthetcian.

  • Salicylic Acid Chemical Peels Salicylic Acid is part of the Beta-Hydroxy Acid Family or BHAs. BHAs are lipophilic agents, which means when salicylic acids are applied to the skin topically, we are working in a controlled environment to remove congestion and excesses of dead skin cells while drawing up the oils to the skin surface deep within the skin.

A 5-6 treatment course is recommended for best results with ongoing maintenance depending on your lifestyle. Contraindications may apply, so please ensure you are completely upfront with your Aesthetician. Please note that individual results may vary.
